The °®Âþµº will meet officials from organisations and ministries of youth in the Caribbean on 30 June to discuss specific challenges they face in delivering services during and after the COVID-19 crisis.
The pandemic has placed governments and organisations across the world under immense pressure to overcome disruptions and meet the needs of °®Âþµº who are more vulnerable to the economic and educational effects of the crisis.
The virtual meeting aims to examine COVID-19’s impact on ministries and departments supporting °®Âþµº and ensure the Secretariat’s work is finely tuned to the existing and emerging issues facing countries in the region.
During the meeting, officials will discuss:
- a report on COVID-19’s impact on Caribbean member countries;
- ways the Secretariat could boost the work of ministries and help mitigate the impact of the pandemic; and
- new modes of working to assist member countries to deliver programmes that improve the lives of °®Âþµº.
The Secretariat is hosting the meeting with the Caribbean Community, Caribbean Development Bank and Caribbean Regional Youth Council.
